The opening, on me at least, smells like very boozy berries, the and booziness (I'm assuming from the vanilla bourbon note) was pretty overwhelming. Beautiful bottle and pink juice. Its a grown up Pink Sugar, This is my perfect 10 perfume. This is my night out perfume, although I would also wear during the day, and it's probably my most complimented one. One of my top 3. Chemicals and candy. I definitely do not think the top accord is woody. I think many people would like this one, it is not offensive or polarizing, just a good spring and summery feminine smell. The floral notes in this work so well together, but I do wish that I smelt more of the vanilla. I bought it for myself for Christmas. My coworker wears it and it smells clean and pretty on her. Its perfect for the cold and cloudy weather were having today as its so comforting. Similarities between this and Voce viva intensa and I love both. Now the performance is insane. It reminds me of so many others that have come out recently, something along the line of Flower by Kenzo lElixer or Good Girl. But in the base there is a strange overpowering synthetic note that I dont like so much, the same note is present in Light Blue Intense, musk and/or amberwood. Unfortunately it is not for me, I found it to be too generic "perfume" sort of smell. The jasmine notes are way too overwhelming on the first spray and during the dry down but it fades pretty quickly on my skin and the fruity notes really start to shine through. I absolutely love this perfume. I just purchased this and it's smells alot like Dolce Garden by Dolce Gabbana minus the coconut! very sweet. It smells like theyve tried to mix oil and water, the sweeteness and woodyness do not mesh well, its a rough blend. All the different varied notes smell so fresh. I am a vanilla lover so the bourbon vanilla being very prominent is a true delight for me. i cant believe how much i love this perfume. It's very sweet and I definitely smell the bergamot and jasmine heavily, which I love. My reaction each time: "Immediately no.". Definitely not bad but not one that stands out. Ive only had this a day as of yet but Im really thinking this will potentially be a new favourite of mine! This is a pretty deep, woody vanilla fragrance. At first I didn't think that this was anything out of the ordinary, but it grew on me and now I absolutely love it! Fragrantica Inc, United States. Very versatile. Why do we like it so much? I think i enjoy it in this one so much because the tea gives it a soft touch and balances well with the subtle woody notes. I was just expecting something else. It might work for other people but it didnt work for me. Love Donna Born in Roma! This is a pretty, easy to wear fragrance. this kind of feels like a lighter, SS version of Dior Poison Addict but i might be making it up. This smells so good. I almost bought the original Donna as I liked it very much, but there was always some weird note when I tested it, that stopped me. Always makes me rethink blind buys, that in many cases would be regretted. The tea note is very faint but it makes it interesting when first sprayed. Can't help but picture a gorgeous italian chic woman walking by and the summer breeze brings out her perfume and it's this one. It smells amazing on its own but on my skin? The opening is beautiful, juicy, fruity, floral in the best way. Sometimes the ones that are raved about are not my cup of tea but this one is def worth the hype. Born in Roma was that way to me. Then i get the jasmine, which i love but some jasmine fragrances can give me a headache. I love this perfume, its always one that no matter what i always come crawling back to. I love the combination of sweetness and woodiness in it. The dry down reminds me of cigarette smoke a little bit which I don't like. I just have so many sweet vanillas in my collection. Not this one. I get about 4 hours of projection and about 7 hours of longevity where I can still smell it on my skin. Like sipping jasmine tea with your dim sum dessert round. So a couple months later I picked the sample up again and sprayed on my skin, and wow. The sweet tart pink girly notes over the woodsy, musky base is very reminiscent of the PDM Delinas to me. That is not woody at all. It literally smells like a department store. This is definitely one of those scents that, for me at least, you need to wait for it to dry for it to really be enjoyable. Some information is missing or invalid below. Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. Does not project much. So warm, yet clean. One of my favorite scents as of this writing. I am a fan of the original Valentino Donna and I got this as a gift for my birthday, about a year ago. However, I don't understand the crazy hype by all these perfume youtubers?? I really like this fragrance. It smells amazing. That bourbon vanilla just keeps drawing me in. Excuse my honesty, but it smells cheap to me. I could only smell the pepper, a very faint hint of fruit, and musk. And I mean that in the best way possible. Really pretty. This is very La Vie Est Belle meets Valentina Pink super modern but cloying in this heat wave. The first hour, you can really smell that jasmine. I can't stop smelling my wrist I need to hug someone right now, lol. I can get an easy 7 hours out of this and much longer with lotion. If it were less floral, Id probably like it more. But at someone with a collection of 50+ fragrances, I'd pass. While I love woody fragrances, the wood is not what stands out to me for this one so I was surprised to see that one as the top accord. I love black currant. Really Beautiful. This isn't a *BAD* scent but I'd have to say I'm not a fan. It's fruity and soapy on me. Very sweet. The perfume bottle is designed with the iconic Valentino stud, the signature of Valentino Couture, which is inspired by Roma architecture. A pleasant surprise, Valentino has disappointed me a few times with their fragrances but this is a gem. Valentino Donna Born In Roma Eau de Parfum is a modern haute couture floriental vanilla perfume. From test on the paper I thought, this is really nice, spring summer office safe, blind buy safe, gift safe. On me the first hour or so was so lovely but then it turned to the most putrid smell, I kid you not! I might be in the minority but this perfume isn't all that and it's giving me Victoria's Secret vibes. Just a completely different perfume in every facet. This is really pretty - probably my favorite of the Donnas! If you were expecting this to be anything like the original Donna then you will be very disappointed with Donna Born in Roma. Kind of remember me Oh so sweet of Marc Jacob or Dolce lily. Its warm and comforting. I love those sweet frags! It's super sweet, which could be a selling point for some, but it makes me like it less. I highly recommend this, plus the presentation is lovely. This has a bright, fruity opening, and a woody/vanilla, slightly powdery dry down. The opening has a blast of jammy black currant and the freshness of the bergamot with the spicy pink pepper over top. Starts out very feminine, fresh, fruity and floral then dries down beautifullyyyy to a deep vanilla it literally lasted on my wrist after a shower. It's a clean sweet silky playful sexy. I know it is still there as I get compliments on it throughout the day. Please don't be alarmed by the jasmine notes, while I am not a fan of jasmine in general, this is beautifully mixed and gives a casual relaxed happy feels when you apply it. Reminds me a little on Gucci Rush2 but Valentino is a lot sweeter. After looking up the notes I realized they do have a few in common. Wait for the dry down and the personality will come through. Rather i find it to be a very woody jasmine perfume, even in the dry down. Gonna go and wash it of my hand. But probably because on my other hand I have Delina exclusif and I can't stop sniffing it. Just now too it out and sprayed it on my wrist it's so addictive, the smell is fresh and transitions to a floral woodsy vanilla. This perfume is sweet but not le vie belle sweet, it gives me floraliental vibes rather then fruity vibes, the longevity on this bad boy is great too I can still smell this on a coat I used 2 weeks ago. it smells so gorgeous on me. This is an easy reach. I think its sophisticated and pretty. I usually hate the powdery accord and am super sensitive to it, but this one is mild enough that it just gives it a softness that I dont mind. Pleasant but I dont find these types of perfumes interesting enough to buy. is described @maisonvalentino as a statement of personality" and I totally agree. I bought the 10mL from Sephora. Jasmine tea also adds a distinct, beautiful smell to this. I need to stop sampling mainstream perfumes they all smell like olympea. Three qualities of jasmine bring a luxurious femininity that is blended with vanilla bourbon, the most expensive extract in the world. I do not like this at all, it was so far away from what i was expecting it to be. The black currant note is similar to the one in Si but without the metallic sour smell of the champagne. Strong vanilla and jasmine scent. It's a sweet, sultry night time perfume. Very well blended. I like this as a date night perfume. This smells almost identical to Vera Wang Princess . born in roma is a musky, sweet bubblegum perfume and is probably the most likeable fragrance i have. There are pepper notes balanced with warm vanilla, making it a very cosy scent. Could be a signature scent. It smells expensive, pretty and clean but has a slightly heavy note, maybe has a hint of musk? I had a 30ml bottle as a tester hoping to go for a bigger one. For me DBIR is a love love love . It was far more than most of what my bottles cost. Fine in the bottle. This was so unique to me when I initially sprayed it on my skin i almost didnt know what to make of it. It's so feminine and easy to wear. While this has good lasting power, I find it to be a very light scent. I cant pin-point a season on it (yet) I have to wear it more! If you love Dior's Miss Dior (EDP) or Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle (both strong patchouli chypre scents) this would be a great evening option if that's the vibe/style you like for daytime. Its giving, that girl. So gorgeous, long wavy hair, fluttering lashes, bronzed skin, cute and flirtatious with shades of candied pink glossed over her nails and lips . Delicious, indulgent custardy vanilla laced with syrupy blackcurrant. It's a great all rounder and I would say a safe blind buy. I love the opening but dry down was a little bit of a let down. It's perfect for spring and it has decent projection and longevity. Very generic, cloyingly sweet, typical "designer" fragrance. Otherwise, your nose gets anosmic and you risk suffocating people next to you. Not at all challenging or unique but gosh darn it, it's a love for me. After smelling it several times in the past, and being very meh towards the fragrance, I find it way more interesting now. Yes, that's pink, pretty. This smells so much like Burberry's Body perfume - the EDP version; only Burberry Body is like the sparkling bright notes of the perfume chord -- and Valentino Donna Born in Roma is more like the Monet soft focus type chord version. It is sweet, slightly fruity & a tiny bit woody. It's definitely mass-appealing, but that comes at the price of lacking any sort of personality. It's pleasant, but I do not get the hype at all, whatsoever. It's toilet cleaner with chlorine. it opens really fruity and sweet, then u smell the white flowers (I love the Jasmin notes so much) and finally the dry down . is to d!e for. Plus it lasts forever. I only smell a bit of jasmine. I literally got a compliment at work after spraying 8hrs prior without respraying, mind you I work in a big factory based type of environment so this is really saying something! a sweet vanilla flavor immediately comes through with some fruity tartness. the drydown is the BEST PART about this fragrance i constantly smell my wrist whenever i wear this it makes me feel so happy and girly. Smells so good, I just wished it lasted longer and projected more. Three different jasmine notes in this, and I, a jasmine hater, love the hell out of this perfume. I first tried it in winter i realised it didn't suit jumper weather although people were able to smelt it as I walked by because I kept being asked what perfume I was wearing. The drydown is still very woody but nice vanilla is coming through. However, you will smell this on everyone because it smells the same on everyone. Miss Dior EDP - 2017, Mon Guerlain EDP, Poison Girl EDP or EDT, Good Girl, Flower Bomb, Coco Mademoiselle, etc all have a similar sensuous vibe but smell so much better. There's nothing unique about it. Its also more floral on my clothes and more sweet on my skin. Very long lasting . No one even noticed any perfume on me. It doesn't smell bad but it's just boring and flat to me, like they blended every popular new release together and bottled it. Very generic and boring sweet scent. It definitely deserves all the rave and positive reviews. I thought it was a safe blind buy, but I really dont like it enough to keep in my personal stash. This is too screechy and sweet on my skin. I cant really smell it on myself after about an hour but i ran into a friend and she said i smelled amazing so the sillage must be good. BUT, just wait for the dry-down, and you will never want to be without it. The black current stands out at first, and hints of vanilla in the background create almost a blueberry note. It's decent enough in small and short doses, but it gets very cloying and overwhelming if anyone over-sprays. It has a very real raw fresh feeling to me. Absolutely love Donna Born in Roma. As basic as the notes are, theres something unique about this scent. Tried from a sample spray. This had smelled gourmand to me on another wearer, but on me its a definite floral. Due to its contents, this product cannot be shipped via our Priority Service or sent to Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. On my skin it smells nothing special. Only worn once but my impression is that it is pretty good for lasting, projection is just right. It's just nice, but not very interesting. I also got tea and looking at the ingredients it does indeed have jasmine tea in it. Not a huge fan of the opening but the drydown is to die for. It will most likely always be in my collection. Maybe this DNA is just super popular now, so a department store WOULD smell like this but not worth the hype. I would also say its a more wintery/autumn perfume but because of the florals could probably get away with wearing it in spring but it might be a bit heavy. This is absolutely stunning, with world class lasting power and sillage. I think it's amazing and I plan on getting a bigger size when I run out. I love this perfume! Im kind of disappointed as its not what I expected but its not bad either. However I love the drydown, it turns into a lovely, not-too-sweet, slightly woody jasmine vanilla. Personally not impressed. I'm normally someone who only likes very sweet, gourmand perfumes. Very faint, absolutely unnoticeable fragrance. I just love the balance of sweet and fruity to peppery woodiness. Its so beautiful and unique. The bourbon vanilla is very prominent. Smelt off paper, to me this smells like a poisonous witches potion. I asked for this one for my birthday. I notice that when I put my nose close to my skin, I only smell the vanilla bourbon but when I sniff about 3 inches up, I can smell the jasmine more. I think 'd prefer the new Coral Fantasy to this one since they removed the vanilla from it. This right here is date night, pretty, gurl next door, brunch vibes. im a gourmand lover and this has a good mixture and almost boozy drydown. I will buy bottle after bottle so I can keep wearing and spraying throughout the day/night I wear it. BUT. Very confused about that. I am sure it's just my skin chemistry because I don't get it in paper. Gourmand lover approved. Totally worth the hype in my opinion. Terrible on my skin. If you're still reading, you are probably like me, as I value the negative reviews the most. I tried it a couple more times in store, but it still had that sweetness that was a bit too much for me. I was disappointed. I am sure I will use all the sampler, simply love that kind of smell, easy to wear anywhere. Horribly sharp berries upfront, couldn't wait for the dry down, the start is too distressing, scrubber for me sorry. not impressive attt alll .. smells like the only one and 100 others, I blind bought this because its so hyped. Recommendation is 9/10! Donna Born in Roma has some of my favorite notes in perfume - black currant, jasmine and vanilla. It doesn't project that much on me but lasts a good 5-6 hours. Im loving the jasmines that are mentioned in this and vanilla bourbon, which is one of my favorite notes! It smelled very sweet to me and at the time, I was not into sweet scents. Id use this for any season, but maybe not the heat of summer, except possibly at night. I could see this being someone's signature. Im beginning to notice a trend here for me. The smell is pretty faint though, but it does last long. There's a mid-note about an hour after the first spray that's nice, sort of a baked good but a lot less sweet than the opening notes. Its sweet and well blended. I would definitely say try it before you buy it. I absolutely love this perfume. After an evening shower, I'll put on body butter and body oil and spray Born in Roma on top. I completely agree with IvyLouise; this really doesn't do anything for me one way or another. I think I'd actually love it on my husband if I could convince him to try it! My only issue is longevity. It is not unique, nor is it sexy IMO but I think that it could be a perfect any occasion/ everyday scent. Any occasion, year round. Whatever this projects pulls in compliments. It did not stand out to me at all, and I did not understand what the hype was about. Easy to wear, sweet, not too heavy. Negative review. I love it from the time I first spray to the end of the scent's life cycle when I get faint whiffs. I bought this in a two-pack with Voce Viva because I wanted VV and it seemed like a good deal for the two travel sprays. But many hours later, the night after I woke up at 5 AM and thought to myself, which perfume am I still getting subtle whiffs of? this perfume smells like a barbie pink color i would describe it as a warm sweet floral scent. 2022 Kohls, Inc. KOHLS and Kohls brand names are trademarks owned by KIN, Inc. All rights reserved. Don't be intimidated by the ultra sweetness up-front - that only lasts for about 15 minutes before it settles into a beautifully mellow fruity spicy vanilla. smelt this one a friend and it was gorgeous i got a really strong gourmand and spicy vibe initially from this. Of course, my husband manages to detect this one, and he really likes it! Also great for date night! PLUS it's the prettiest perfume bottle I own <3. I really enjoyed this perfume. It is often called generic but this is in a lane of it's own if you ask me. Very feminine, very classy and luxurious, more suitable for women after 25-30 as it is girly but at the same time very poised. Is my nose broken? This smells nice but its not a fragrance that captivated me. The vanilla and blackcurrant in this are so good together with the pink pepper note that makes it so spicy and unique and sets it apart from other popular sweet scents like Flowerbomb and Lancome La Vie Est Belle. The initial spray is everythingggggg. When I spray more than a few times, I become anosmic to it, however, its quite long lasting because I still get compliments after hours of wearing it. Shes classy and understated (I know sometimes these words are code for boring but not in this case). bvseo-msg: Configuration error - pageURI contains invalid characters, correct or encode URI. This is an easy reach fragrance that I see as a crowd pleaser. I think this would suit any woman over 21. For some reason I smell Britney Spears private show and also a medicine smell, the dry down does blend together well and it smells like a fancier/floral version of BS private show. Tried twice with the same result. The notes don't really give you any idea of the over all scent. It makes a lot of fragrances seem so pathetic. Not worth it. I cannot identify any of the fruits or flower, I guess it is well blended. I get a lot of the fruity black currant and subtle jasmine with some spicy undertones and a woody, vanilla bourbon base. It makes me want to dress up! Perfectly unisex if you're into this style. Definitely not impressed whatsoever, but the bottles pretty. Its an easy reach for me. . I envy those who can wear this and not have the bug spray dry down effect *sigh*. I love this scent. The opening is kind of fizzy, but it quickly dries down to a lovely woody vanilla with fresh berries. This was a completely underwhelming blind buy. If youre on the fence - find a tester and spray some on and then WAIT. Boozy, sparkling, sweet. This is super long lasting on me, even if i take a shower i can still smell it a little. This is a statement perfume. I will admit it's not the most unique or show-stopping fragrance. It's not too sweet but warm and cozy. Gorgeous. It kinda smells like a very sophisticated grape juice with vanilla lol. This is one of my daily wearers. This smells nice but also I am finding most floral perfumes these days smell the same to me. It's a gentle and inoffensive scent. Love it because of this drydown. I am really looking forward to wearing this in fall and winter , Would like to update and say this smells like fruit stripe gum to me. This has quickly become a favorite of mine as well as a staple in my collection. I like it, but I save it for warmer weather. I still need to wear it out to see how it performs but I'm so happy with this purchase. This smells deep, rich, bold, feminine, and vampy. It smells sweet with just a hint of something spicy. The fruity, peppery top notes are so beautiful and dance so sweetly with the jasmine in this. At first sniff I was very delighted to smell a very fruity and jammy scent. Vanilla Woods). To me, it smells halfway in between Delina and Delina Exclusif with maybe a touch of YSL Mon Paris thrown in for the sugar and berries.
